Two years ago, this piece was part of a three-drawing installation. No longer part of its original arrangement, this drawing has the potential for entirely new content. It has become more of personal art artifact—a marker of my own history as an artist revisiting a previous site of significance.
Attempting to excavate a former image should not suggest an artistic struggle to revisit old ideas—in its original form, this piece and its companions completed their conceptual cycle. Now, it is merely through exploratory action that the image can live again as a memory for those who have seen it before, or as an apparition to those who are encountering it for the first time.
